I want to keep the mail I receive, seperate from each address. I don't want emails going to one window for both. Do I need to open a seperate account (I'd rather not since the info is the same)
I have two email addresses on one account. How do I view them on seperate windows ?
the easiest way to do is to open twice the Interner Explorer. minimize the other one if not in use. gud day Buddy
Reply:Set the Outlook Express and set two accounts and close one and open account on another window

Problem with Windows Outlook email - I receive emails but I cant send any! ?
hello,
I am setting up new laptop but I have problem with my yahoo emails to be in outlook email account thing...
i can RECEIVE emails
but not SEND anything at all....
I've checked few times if I have correct outgoing and incoming setting s for emails and everyting is OK..
Please help.. :(
Problem with Windows Outlook email - I receive emails but I cant send any! ?
DOUBLE check then.
your outgoing server should be
smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk
probably through port 25.
If it still doesn't work then perhaps your firewall is blocking the port
Reply:I have had exactly the same problem so take MY advice. Check the server it should be: smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk. If it isn't then download yahoo outlook connector - google it. The problem is when using outlook for the first time you need to make sure that you set up your account straight away or it won't work
Good luck, Music Mania

What Microsoft or windows program do i need to be able to email a picture or send a document to someone?
none. just go 2 ur email and make an email. there should be a link usually at the bottom or top of the page that says "attach files". click that then click browse, find the picture or document saved 2 ur computer, then click attach and send it.
What Microsoft or windows program do i need to be able to email a picture or send a document to someone?
neither. just save the document or picture as a file and attach it to regular email.

Getting Windows xp to remember my email address and password?
I did choose NO the first time I logged into a site, but how can I get windows to ask me again if I want it to remember my log in details.
No silly answers please, like, 'sorry, I dont know'.
Will report all silly answers.
Getting Windows xp to remember my email address and password?
Try downloading opera browser, its free. It has a thing called magic wand that remembers passwords for each site, just press it and click. Its so much easier and especially good if you have multiple yahoo addresses as it just has a list and you dont have to type anything.
Reply:Go to:
Tools%26gt;%26gt;Internet Options...%26gt;%26gt;Content%26gt;%26gt;Auto Complete
- Check "Prompt me to save passwords"
- Click OK and close all IE windows.
- Open fresh IE window and try :)
These steps might save time to lots of people using Windows XP.

Reply:I'm sure you have a Firewall built into your Router and run both a software Firewall and anti-virus s/w on your PC,
However, no matter how good your Firewalls are, one day your PC will get 'hacked' ... and whatever is on your PC at that time could be copied to some low life scum looking for Credit Card numbers and passwords ...
Of course if you don't have a Firewall (or are in the habit of turning it off everytime you play games across the web), chances are your PC is already infected ...
So go ahead - just don't come back here if you find some-one else has hijacked your accounts ...

Where can I find an email program that uses HTTP mail and is adaptable with Windows Vista?
I have a new laptop that uses Windows Vista. It has the new Windows Mail instead of Outlook Express and I was disappointed to find that it doesn't handle HTTP mail. Therefore, I can't use my Hotmail account with it. Is there any other program that I can install that handles HTTP mail? I did search for Outlook Express downloads and found some but am hesitant about downloading from these unknown sources and don't even know if Outlook Express would work with Vista?
Thanks in advance!

How to create a email address, windows mail?
Im trying to set up a windows email address but i have a question
1 step is 'set up email servers' then incoming email server type'? listed
POP3, imap, HTTP, i dont have a clue what i need to choose?
then i get, Incoming mail server...and i need to type something in? then i get asked 'outgoing mail server (smtp) name...? do anyone know what i need to type in these parts? Thanks.
How to create a email address, windows mail?
You don't say who your ISP is so what you put in will vary slightly. If you Google POP3 addresses your provider will probably be listed, giving you the info to put it.
Reply:When I set up my Windows Live Mail address - I never had to set anything up - I just chose my email adders and windows did the rest !

I use Yahoo email. How do I get Windows Pic viewer to open it instead of Jasc Paint?
If you mean photo attachments, find an image of the file format you want to open with the Windows previewer already on your hard drive.
Right click it, click "Open With", and in that menu, select "Choose Program", then select "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer." Make sure "Always use this program" is checked.
Now your computer will always use Windows Picture and Fax Viewer to open whatever file format you did this with (.gif, .jpg, etc.)

I don;t think Yahoo allows this anymore - I used to download a small program from there website, but it no longer worked when I last checked - I think you have to pay for the service if you want it to be the default now.
Reply:Yahoo doesn't yet have a program to run with the New Windows Vista operating system.I was informed I would be notified when they have one up %26amp; running.

You can even send documents directly from Word, Excel, or other Windows applications.

use the attach dafty but you've only got 10 meg i think

Reply:i assume u r using yahoo mail.
once u r in yahoo mail, go to %26gt;compose mail
then look for the %26gt;attach tab/button. click on it once
a window should appear showing your hard disk drive, files etc...
click on the movie file which u want to send (but u must know where/ which directory u store the file in the first place)...
cheers
Reply:The clip I hope you are runing on Windows Media Player, must be saved on Harddisk or on CD, just attach that file while composing to E-mail.
And before sending check the file size, size should support for E-mail, Yahoo and Gmail supports upto 5 MB of file size.
Reply:If its not too big, then just open a new message in your email client, enter recipients address and drag the clip into the body of an e-mail message. It will appear embedded in the message. Enter some text in the mail message if you like, and hit send. Do not send huge video files unless both you and the recepient have fast broadband.

Ok, I hate the new Windows Live Hotmail, is there any email out there that is similiar to the old hotmail?
I was forced to move to the new Windows Live Hotmail and it blows bigtime. I'm not looking to move to another product that allows me to check my email with the same ease of use, can anyone recommend a good one. Important stuff for me is the ability to turn off any and all spam and junkmail filtering, show lots of messages per page (used to show 100 in hotmail) and ability to store like up to 1GB of emails. The new version only shows a few per page, the interface sucks, I hate the scolling panes and can't stand having to click on every message to approve to show attachments and content, just a major pain in the rear. Any help anyone can provide to point me to a decent product would be great.

Try Yahoo! email..
Reliable, quick, Microsoft Outlook compatible.. very good email provider.
Reply:There is:
1.Yahoo! Mail, with unlimited storage space and a good spam filter (configurable)
2.Gmail, with 2.9 GB storage (and ever increasing), an excellent spam filter and in-built Google Chat feature
Reply:hi, i have 5G with hotmail. anywaz, you can try Gmail, or yahoo mail, they are the most popular ones now i iguess.
Reply:I Agree. The new hotmail suuuucks. It's so friggin annyoing. how about optioning the new and classic version then people can choose. I bet noone will pick the new version. It is very very annoying. I hate when people think they know what other people will like.
Reply:I too hate the new Hotmail and closed that account. Neither do I like GMail. Don't get me started with AOL or Earthlink. NetZero is also useless and slow.
I've had the best luck with Yahoo! I pay a yearly fee just so I can have extra features. Sure it drives me crazy at times, but it's the best e-mail service I've found to date and I've been using e-mail in one form or another for over 10 years.
Reply:I too hate the live hotmail you can no longer see my MS homepage when you sign in to your email account. so I had to close my account there. Yahoo mail is great. Try using it ..At least yahoo does not delete your save messages as Hotmail did to me I lost all the emails from work I used and they told me someone hacked into my email which is a huge lie. I only used that account for work and got fired thanks to Hotmail for losing the emails I needed to use at work.
Reply:G-Mail is the only one I know of that can store that much and maybe more as far as emails go.
Yahoo mail is alright.
Excite is cool. Although doesn't have that much storage capacity.
Reply:Gmail would be the way to go. Yahoo is pretty good too but nothing beats the old hotmail....i'm going to miss it i don't like Windows Live at all.

Why cant i receive email but i can send them using my windows mail?
we have two computers in the house and on the second computer it will let me send emails using my windows mail but when i recieve a reply back frm tht email i sent it goes to the first computer and not mine PLEASE HELP!!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE
Why cant i receive email but i can send them using my windows mail?
Your settings aren't right in your Outlook. You need to have your incoming mail server setup correctly according to what email server you are using. For example, I use my Gmail through outlook and this is what my Incoming Mail Server looks like... imap.gmail.com. Something along this line, is what you need to have setup.
Reply:What ISP and what mail-service?
You need to find the SMTP server settings and put them back in correctly with the right security options and server name.
Reply:that happened when i tried to use gmail with incredimail
i just used outlook and it was all fine

you need Mail Plus http://mailplus.mail.yahoo.com/ to do it.
Email forwarding sends your email to another address that you provide. Instead of your mail going into your Yahoo! Inbox, it's forwarded to the other account's inbox so you can check it there. While forwarding is "on," you won't get any mail in your Yahoo! account.
Back up your entire email account or mass-download messages to your local computer with Mail Plus message archiving. It's convenient. And it's secure.

CHANGE ADD EMAIL ADDRESS
go to mail page at top you will see welcome and your user name (OR) click my account

When I receive email via Windows 2007 with an attachment it will not open. Ymail kicks me out, why?
Ymail confirms there is no virus and then when I download it kicks me out to the front page of Yahoo. This happens with both Windows 2003 %26amp; 07
When I receive email via Windows 2007 with an attachment it will not open. Ymail kicks me out, why?
Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send receive delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. I have been advised to use this site to view my mail, www.mail2web.com if all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?s... click yes when asked do you want to opt out. Hope this helps.

I have an email address and passwordand cant connct to windows mail.?
A friend of mine has sky broadband, and when he tries to connect it to windows mail it fails, because when he gets to the box where it says POP3 and incoming mail and outgoing mail he puts the wrong information in. Doe's anyone know what to put in the boxes so he can get connected.
I have an email address and passwordand cant connct to windows mail.?
here you go
outgoing server "smtp.sky.com"
and incoming "pop.sky.com
Reply:This depends on the account information. Basically, Windows Mail is just a client (newer version of Outlook Express) and it just connects you to your e-mail account.
In order to make it work, you must know the correct settings (ports, server addresses, user/pass, etc) which you can get from the website where you have the e-mail address (ex: Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc).
Read there FAQs.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Be glad to, however you have not provided enough information to do so.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽First, though, please note that both of the above respondants have given you some incorrect information. The first one said, "Most mail providers will not allow you to use ... smtp client software..." NOT! It is actually the other way around -- meaning, MOST mail providers REQUIRE you to use some form of POP3/SMTP client software.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Then, the second one said, "outlook express does not accomidate web mail addresses aka @hotmail.com @live.com @yahoo.com etc any of those accounts would not work because they are not pop3 server based." NOT! One of my email accounts is hosted by Yahoo and I use Outlook Express to both retrieve and send my email from/to that account without problems. Basically, to find out if a web-based email service provider also offers client-based email support, you'll need to ask them -- but don't automatically assume that just because an email service seems to be web-based that it absolutely does not also offer client-based support.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Further information... A Windows email client, such as Outlook Express or Incredimail, are not mail servers. In order for someone to send you an email, they must be able to send the email to an email server which knows your email address (your mailbox). Then, the Windows email client can log on to the email server and retrieve your email from your mailbox on that server. Likewise, when your Windows email client needs to send email, it must be able to connect to an email server in order to send the email. Your Windows email client cannot send email all on its own.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽So, the first question you'll have to know the answer to is: Who is your email provider? The answer to that could either be the same provider which gives you Internet access (your IAP/IPP/ISP) such as AOL, or if you have a separate website your web host (an IPP) might provide you with a number of mailboxes such as HostMonster.com, or your email provider could be a service (an ISP) such as Google (GMail) or Yahoo. Also note that such email providers may provide both browser-based email and client-based email support.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Then, the next question is: What are the names of your email provider's mail servers? Your email provider can give you this information. They will have two such email servers -- one which contains your mail box (a POP3 server) and one which allows you to send email (an SMTP server). Each of these servers will have a specific port number which allows your email client to connect to them.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Lastly, which email client are you going to use on your local computer? Each one has different methods for configuring your email account and may use different nomenclature for describing options.
God bless.
Reply:Generally speaking pop3 is the server address of your email provider for example a blueyonder address would need pop3.blueyonder.co.uk thats the pop3 protocal needed, to find out what your pop3 is check and log into your email provider and go to email support they usually have it listed in there also your username %26amp; password is required by outlook to log into the email server. also you will need the SMTP another example would be smtp.blueyonder.co.uk.
Another point worth mentioning is outlook express does not accomidate web mail addresses aka @hotmail.com @live.com @yahoo.com etc any of those accounts would not work because they are not pop3 server based.
if you are using any of those email addresses listed above you would be better using windows live mail client which accomidates for both pop3 %26amp; web based emails you can get it @ http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview
then click the get now button.
i hope this helps you out all the best Dj
Reply:It depends who your mail provider is. Most mail providers will not allow you to use Outlook Express or any similar smtp client software as it is a risk to their security.

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send recieve delete or move mail. Why does it take so long to open an email message in Vista with Windows Mail?
Most likely your using a dialup connection, and in some places they can really be slow.
Why does it take so long to open an email message in Vista with Windows Mail?
Could be a number of things:
Remember your pc and file system have to work with slower servers and the networks they run.
probably the others can't keep up
in case thats not the the scenario, check your firewall and your account settings.
Also, got to remember about virus protection.
Hope this helps

I'm having problems with Windows Email?
When I download my email, there are always a lot of ads and other junk mail. In fact, there's so much of it, I'll get an error message before all the messages are delivered and it stops delivering. I painstakingly delete the junk and then empty the "deleted items" folder. And try continuing the download. Much to my consternation, all the junk mail that I deleted makes another appearance. How can that be, when it's been deleted? Anyway, I have to make several attempts to delete the junk, get the error message, log off, log on again, continue to try and receive the messages, and get all the deleted ones back, etc., etc. Finally, in desperation, I delete all the messages, and whatdoya know, the all come back again!!! How can I stop this madness? This only happens when I get more messages than my email account can handle. I check my mail every day, and I've tried unsubscribing the junk mail (not that I ever subscribed in the first place) but that hasn't helped since I keep getting more junk mail. I'm about ready to turn into a junkie myself! Can anyone help? I have Windows Vista Home edition and Windows Mail, and Cox is my ISP.
I'm having problems with Windows Email?
Sounds like you have a corrupt message in your account. Unfortunately, Windows won't delete the messages from the server until they've all be received, which is why it'll just keep happening over and over.
Call your ISP's tech support and ask them to clear it out for you.

Struggling to set up my windows email can you please help me anyone?
My yahoo email is taking ages to upload each picture and I have lots of pictures to send. Due to this I tried to set up my yahoo email to go through my windows email but where it talks about the POP3 or IMAP and SMTP I do not know what to put in there? And can I use my yahoo email through this or do I have to set up a microsoft.com email address. If anyone could help asap I woud much appreciate it.
Thanks guys x
Struggling to set up my windows email can you please help me anyone?
I assume your using Microsoft Outlook Express. You don't need to worry about IMAP but you do need to know the POP3 and SMTP. POP3 is used to get Emails to your inbox and SMTP is used to send Emails. You need to use :
POP3 = plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP = plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
However before making these changes I recommend that you reset your browser and log back into Yahoo as the task you want to do is very easy using Webmail. Also try another web browser such as Firefox - http://www.getfirefox.com
When setting up SMTP make sure you enable SSL and enter the port number as 465
That should let you send mail.
The problem you are having is that SSL is not enabled. If you enable SSL enter the port as 465. If you cant enable SSL then go to the SMTP settings and change the port from 25 to 587.
Your internet provider will block port 25 and that is why you cannot send email. So change this to 587.
You should now be able to send mail.
Reply:As the last person said it is a lot easier to do it through one of the familiar ones, I would open an email with google and then download Picaso (free through Google software) and then you can easily send them direct through Picaso without all the hassle you are are having at the moment. Reply:As the last person said it is a lot easier to do it through one of the familiar ones, I would open an email with google and then download Picaso (free through Google software) and then you can easily send them direct through Picaso without all the hassle you are are having at the moment. How can i recover deleted email in windows xp?
I need to find some of my email that disappeared or was deleted from my email inbox. how can I find it and retrieve it
How can i recover deleted email in windows xp?
From the info you give, if you're using e-mail on Windows XP I would assume you're using Outlook Express. If you or someone deleted a message, look into the "Deleted Items" folder. If it isn't there, then I am afraid you won't get it back and it is already deleted. - But, whatever the mail server you're using, chances are the message might still be there. So go check directly (Yahoo, Hotmail, your ISP website) and see if the message still there. - By default Outlook Express deletes a message on the server after it has been retreived, but maybe you're lucky and you're not set up that way, so go to your mail server and check to see if that message is there somewhere whithin the folders.
Good luck. I hope this helped somehow.
Reply:Are you using Outlook Express, Thunderbird, or a Web access for your email? It makes a difference.
Reply:Would depend on how long it was deleted. The longer the mails have been deleted, the less likely it will be recoverable.
Reply:If it is web based, such as Yahoo, it will be in your trash box. If it is stored on your hard drive, such as Outlook/Outlook Express, then a hacker already has it, so ask him. If you dont want to be hacked again, then dump Microsoft and get open source such as www.kubuntu.org

How do I stop windows email(WE) deleting from my yahoo inbox? Do I untick somewhere in yahoo, or is it in WE?
I am a bit of a dummy, so please give me navigation instructions from a front page in which ever program I need to change. Uncheck that box.' -- but I could not find "account settings" in either yahoo or windows mail ... sob ...
How do I stop windows email(WE) deleting from my yahoo inbox? Do I untick somewhere in yahoo, or is it in WE?
If you mean you use Windows Outlook Express, you have to uncheck the box that says "Delete Mail From Server" or something like that.
If you are speaking of Outlook Express open it and choose Tools %26gt; Accounts.
Then select the account and choose Properties.
Choose the Advanced tab.
Check the box the says "Leave a copy of messages on server".
That should do it.
