How can I move email messages from Outlook 2000 to Windows Mail?

I have purchased Windows Vista, and using WIndows Mail. But I cannot manage to move my email messages from my previous configuration (Outlook 2000) to Windows Mail.


I REALLY need to move them.





One more thing: I tried to move my contacts by exporting them into a CSV file, but when I click on the "export" tab in Outlook 2000 (installed under Windows Vista), it tells me that Windows could not find the DLL of the WAB. How can I fix this?

When converting from Outlook Express to Outlook in the past, you had to first enable showing of HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS...





Then you went to the following location


C:\Documents and Settings\YOURCURRENTUSERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{635ADD3D-5CEF-4046-8DBD... Express





For outlook id imagine it would be the same location, but say outlook instead of outlook express...





You then basically would drag those items in that folder, over to outlook to give it the same emails...





You may possibly be able to do the same with windows mail, but you will have to find the default folder for it...








Also outlook express and outlook both feature an "Export" , I am not sure how full proof they work, but you should be able to export some things such as contacts.
Reply:not a 100% sure about Windows Mail (haven't used it yet) but most mail apps will let you drag and drop messages and contacts. Make a folder on your desktop, open it, go into your inbox, select all and drag/drop or copy/paste the email messages into the folder, it should create a bunch of .eml or .msg files. Then drag and drop into the other application. Contacts can be done the same way. You have to doo each folder seperately ie. Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Contacts, etc.
